I didn't look in my archives, but I am pretty sure that Britney talked about creating a Vegas show a year or so ago. that was before , well you know. Lots of big name stars have done well in Vegas. Basically, you don't have to tour, you let your fans come to you. the model has worked well in Nashville too.

Peter Belisi is good at getting his name and face on the internet. stylehive is a social networking site specifically tailored to serve members of the fashion industry. There is also a forum on stylehive. I took a peek and members seem to like embedding YouTube clips of fashion shows.

Peter Belisi joined the site last summer. He posted about a great green paisley tie just before St. Patrick's Day. I have green eyes, this tie would look perfect on me.

Avril Lavigne Denies Calling Britney Weak

Avril Lavigne is not a wimp. I used to live in Canada and I had a television when she was the inescapable media darling of that country. I saw some live broadcasts in which it was painfully obvious that she was not lip synching. She actually became a singing star before she learned how to sing.

She has never accidentally made her private parts available to the paparazzi, but I think she hung a moon in a music video for a faux punk band. I can't remember if it was the band that her present husband leads or another one.

She let the supposed Britney diss go the rounds before issuing a denial at having ever said it.

Ok, for all I know, I might be the only dummy.

I guess I chose that title because I have the feeling that there are people who would love the advantages of High-Definition Multimedia Interface but they don't have a clue what it is. So I am going to start out with the basics.

Now that Britney Spears isn't doing anything more newsworthy than shopping at Staples, people have begun to talk more about her hat. I guess this is a way of getting more mileage out of the shaved head thing. Britney has ALWAYS worn hats. In an interview at the age of 18 she confessed to having a very low opinion of her own natural hair. One of the above images was actually cropped from a picture of her with two of her friends who were also wearing hats, presumably to help make Brit look less conspicuous.

Howie Day is Reportedly a Jerk

When I heard the name Howie Day being dropped last week in reference to Britney Spears rehab social life it rang a bell and not a good one.

Here is why his name was familiar despite his mostly unsuccessful music career:

Vote For The Worst

There is now a web awards site that is a sort of parallel to the People's Choice Awards. It is called the Blogger's Choice Awards. I think the fact that you have to sign up to nominate and vote is going to prevent the thing from taking off in a big way right out of the gate. But I can understand the restriction given the current season of American Idol. The Vote For The Worst movement seems to be having more of an influence on the show.

With this blogging awards thing, members can nominate and vote for any blogs including their own. I put one of my blogs in the Worst Blog Of All Time category. I also voted for it. I don't really think my blog is the worst. Go take a look at the nominees and decide for yourselves.

I think the best way to draw attention to the awards may be to nominate big names in the Best Celebrity Blog category and then put the word out to fans of that celebrity.

I wish Britney Spears had a blog. Actually, that would be an awesome way for her to re-enter the public eye in a controlled and deliberate way. She could probably compete in the Hottest Mommy Blogger category as well. She might not win, bloggers are a very HOT bunch of people.

I can understand Britney wanting to kick the ridicule ball back into K Fed's court.

The title of this post is from a song I get stuck in my head sometimes when I am creating blog advertising. PayPerPost pays me money to blog about products and services. I just go to the blogger end of their site, log in and the grab my choice of the opportunities that are available to me. Then I blog about the topic, put in the required links and boom, I will get some cash in my PayPal account 30 days from when I published the post.

Today is a special day for PPP bloggers, because it is the first ever 1K Tuesday. At some point before midnight EST somebody will grab an opportunity that pays $1000.

For people that might be reflexively critical of the the PayPerPost business model, I would like to point out that the majority of the Opps ask for a neutral tone. Bloggers don't have to blow sunshine up the blogosphere's butt every time they want a few bucks.

I can talk about how this $1,000 promotion is going to create heart palpitations from over ingestion of coffee as bloggers around the World sit there hitting refresh hoping to see that $1,000 thing come up on their screen. Some people may be so obsessed and distracted that children will be eating PB&J for lunch and supper. To balance that comment with a positive...PB&J has three of the four food groups, get them to have a glass of milk and you are laughing.

Britney Spears may be OK

I feel sorry for Britney Spears. She has courted the attention of paparazzi to a great extent, but it is still just wrong that they are mobbing her so relentlessly.

I think that her days of relative stability since rehab are a good sign. I am assuming that she is clean, only because the tabloids would be all over any slip up.

Paparazzi are ruthless nasty asses because people who sell magazines are willing to pay them a lot of money for pictures. This makes the publishers sound nasty doesn't it. They pay the big bucks because magazines with candid pictures of celebrities sell. That makes the people who look at the pictures seem nasty too.

I haven't been on my high horse about paparazzi pictures too much, but I don't post them if I can help it either.

This blog used to be pretty crappy. I think it has gotten better in recent months. I even made a legitimate attempt at real journalism.

Despite what I thought were improvements, Google and Alexa continue to tell me in their cold calculating way that I suck. I have reduced the number of celebrity blogs that I update regularly so that I could concentrate on making quality posts in 2 or three of them.
I just found out about a community within the Blogosphere. That is designed to provide bloggers with much needed pats on the back for their efforts. When you join HighFivez.com, you can submit a blog or blog post for honest peer review.

I am not going to play the telephone game with the details of custody and cash settlements. They haven't been officially disclosed, and they may never be. The most widely circulated story has been formally denied. If you have been asleep for the past six months, MTV News has a succinct recap of the saga of Britney Spears.

I think the media angle post divorce will include some scrutiny of Kevin's post settlement behavior. If he goes back to being all about the bling and the partying, it will be a subject that gets covered.

I am going to write down the different reasons that I have had for staying in hotels in no particular order. I guess it is going to be roughly in chronological order.

As a child, I used to attend a large agricultural competition that moved from one town to another every year. On years where it was very far from home, we would sometimes get a cheap hotel room for the weekend. I think the first time I ever had delivery pizza was during the Provincial 4H Show. I was amazed, it had pineapple on it. I think my parents made reservations over the phone well in advance. You have to make reservations if you are going to a yearly event in a small town.

When I was in my late teens, I was on a sports exchange with another school. I was billeted with a host family, but I ended up in a hotel one night after a school dance. I slept on the floor. I don't know who rented the room. I think I pitched in.

When I went to get a license for a job back in my twenties, the company paid for a hotel room for the two weeks. They got a really cheap hotel, but they were paying for my food too. Steak gets boring after a while.

I have had planned and unplanned hotel stays for romantic purposes. I have spent most of my life living quite far away from big city nightlife, but I enjoy participating in it every couple of years. I have gotten lucky with finding a hotel on the spur of the moment a few times, if not on price, at least I got a nice room.

There have been times when the rooms were not nice. When that happens, the only course of action I usually take is to stay out as late as possible and then checkout as soon as we are conscious. Should I Submitt a Letter of Support to Britney?

There are two reasons why I will probably not submit a letter of support on the BritneySpears.com website. I am not honestly an ardent fan of her music. There is no way for me to shamelessly promote myself using the letter of support. I guess maybe I am a false tabloid. I feel icky now. I really do want her to get well, and I have mostly stopped making fun of her.

Thanks to an effort lead by fans, there is now some actual content on her site. There are a bunch of warm wishes from fans in a graphic made to look like hand written notes in a notebook. I like it, I hope it makes her feel good.

Net Safety For Your Kids

I have children. Our strategy to keep them safe in real life is to be a demonstrably active and aware part of their everyday lives. With respect to their activities on the internet, they are old enough that we feel it is neccessary to allow them some real privacy. We ask quetions. The wrong answers and/or the wrong way of answering can be a trigger for some further investigation.

We have discussed the idea of a keylogger with them. Naturally they don't like the idea. Way have said in no uncertain terms that we have every right to install a keylogger on any of the computers in the household. Maybe we have.

Safeguarding your kids is just one use of a keystroke logger. Such a system would allow for retrieval of lost passwords and usernames on the PC's that we use for our livelihood. There have been times when a forgotten password has cost us time and money. Obviously you have to have a password for the logger, but it is kind of like having one of those locking cabinets to keep all your important keys in.

Britney Spears Half Done Her Rehab Stint

I had to look at some pretty disturbing images before I found this cute HUMP DAY wish for Britney.

I don't know what to expect after the entire 30 days are up. Well, I expect a statement of some sort. Britney and her manager had made several hopeful, promising 'turning her life around' speeches while she was nearing rock bottom. I'm sure that somebody has been drafting a statement for the last 17 days.

It will soon be summer. I vowed to myself that I am going to start wearing sunscreen whenever I go for a walk starting now. These days, the UV can get pretty brutal.

There are reports that Britney is leaving the rehab for shopping excursions and just generally not following the rules of the place. Predictably, Promises is going to allow a high profile client to do what ever they want just so they get the publicity. I hope they aren't letting her do drugs while she is in rehab. That would be counter-productive.

A Lazy Pet to Chill With

I have never heard of ragdoll cats but having read up on them...I WANT ONE.

Does Britney's Baby Have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?

Sean Federline was photographed much more often than his younger brother. This might be just the result of circumstances, or it may be because the baby has some traits that are associated with fetal alcohol syndrome. I just googled the term and I feel so sorry for the girls that have their pics on the top of the page.

I don't own my own iPod. The first time that I ever spent much time using one was actually today. I was headed out to go sit in a doctor's waiting room for an hour or so. He's a great doctor but for some reason he plays Simon and Garfunkel's greatest hits all day, every day. I asked my daughter if I could use her iPod. It was so much better hearing some fresh music. The speakers in the office are set at a very low volume, so I was able to block out everything except the occasional hand clapping bit.

This is from the Alexa traffic page for BritneySpears.com. It might be possible to access some of these things if you are subscribed to the fansite, but otherwise there is absolutely none of the advertised features. It still ranks below 15,000. I am so jealous.

Britney Spears' Time Travel Queries and Theories

The video footage of Britney Spears discussing time travel makes more sense now that I have checked out her work in the field of physics. I was even more impressed with the traffic that the site devoted to her work is getting. Britneyspears.ac features prominent advertising for an effort to fight World Hunger. I'm sure this helps dissuade people who might be tempted to embark on a campaign of frivolous litigation. I am now a bit worried that all of her troubles may have started when she figured out time travel. Maybe there is something in the not too distant future that was simply too much for even a great mind like hers to bear.

I have a confession to make. I am a total Luddite when it comes to text messaging. If I wanted to break up with Kevin Federline while he was on Canadian television, I would have to resort to actually talking to him.

I tried to send a text message once. I was on the bus, stuck in traffic and I didn't have enough credit left on my cheap pay as you go phone to make a voice call. It turned out that I didn't have enough for a text message either but I had spent about five minutes figuring out how to key in a message.

Maybe the increasing popularity of smartphones, you know, those ones with buttons with actual letters on them, maybe that will bring the prices down. Maybe then I will get into text messaging.

The Blackberries have it going on with name recognition, but people can be easily distracted by shiny things, hence all the stiff competition.

A new graphic with the same coming soon message appeared recently on BritneySpears.com.

The big change is that there are links to the fan club and the merchandise store in the center of the page. I suspect that someone who was hired to update the store suggested a new landing page as well. Given the old adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity, the changes make perfect sense. The graphics of the store match the mainpage.

There is no new music, but there is a new scent at the store.

They say that the skin is the human body's largest organ. They say that you need to avoid excessive sun exposure in order to avoid damage to your skin. They say that a healthy diet is good for your skin. Who are they? They are doctors.

I'm using this blog post to talk briefly about a Skin Care Products site that is run by an MD. In fact Skincare-MD.com has been in operation since 1998 under the direction of Dr. Peter T. Pacik. This man has a presence on the Internet.

Here's what I saw that was different about his website. He has links to real research studies. He has an address for a real office, it's in New Hampshire. He describes the products in terms of their active ingredients and there specific actions, no flowery promises.

Britney Spears' Mental Health

I want to preface this by saying that I have some doubts about the latest news about Britney, so much so that I am choosing to not repeat it.

The question I really want to get out in the open is this:

"If Britney Spears is suffering from a severe bout of mental illness, why isn't she in a facility that is better equipped to deal with it?"

I think the answer can be summed up in two words...Public Relations.

Promises is possibly going against their policies to keep the most famous train wreck in the World at their facility for the sake of the priceless publicity. Britney or the people looking out for Britney want her at a comfy place where normal, not crazy people go to get their heads straight.

Promises runs another rehab as a charity for low income mothers. How long do you think one of those women would be able to act the way Britney is reportedly behaving before they were transported to a place with less sun decks and more padded walls? I don't think the Sharpie ink on her forehead would have a chance to dry before she was in an ambulance.
