Here is something that sounds absolutely ingenius, Soap Opera characters with MySpace profiles. That could really take off as a fun trend. And I read about it first on Soaps.com. The website is still in it's infancy, but it is already loaded with content. It has indepth daily updates on all the major shows. It has loads of current soap relates news. The forums are thriving.

I am actually a seasonal soap watcher. I prefer to watch a show for a few weeks in the summer when they have the crazy story lines. Back in the 90's it was aliens. I spent a month or two having a siesta during the soaps. I didn't realize that I was watching the beginning of one soap opera and the end of another one because I slept through the credits of the first one and the opening of the second one. I was very confused. If I had been motivated I could have straightened myself out with a site like Soaps.com
